Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you submit a project request, we collect: name and contact information (first name, last name, phone number), property address and zip code, project description and details, timeline and urgency information, whether insurance is involved, and email address if you opt in to service notifications.

We also collect automatically: IP address and approximate location, browser type, device type, and operating system, pages visited and time on platform, and referral source.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to match your project request with up to three (3) vetted local contractors, share your contact information and project details with those contractors, send you a submission confirmation, follow up on your contractor experience (optional), send service notifications if you opt in, detect and prevent fraud, and improve the platform and our scoring systems.

3. How We Share Your Information

Your personal information is shared in the following ways:

• With up to three (3) vetted local contractors who claim your project lead. These contractors receive your name, address, phone number, and project description after claiming.
• With service providers who help us operate the platform, including Twilio (phone validation), Supabase (database), Stripe (contractor payment processing), and Resend (email delivery). These providers process your data only as necessary to provide their services.
• With law enforcement or government authorities when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers. We do not share your information with parties unrelated to fulfilling your project request.

4. Data Retention

We retain your project request information for up to 24 months to enable follow-up, dispute resolution, and platform improvement. You may request deletion at any time as described in Section 6 below.

5. Your Rights Under the Colorado Privacy Act

If you are a Colorado resident, you have the following rights:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate personal data.
• Right to Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data. We honor deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
• Right to Opt Out: Opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising or sale. Note: we do not sell personal data or engage in targeted advertising.
• Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@keytradesman.com with the subject line “Colorado Privacy Act Request.” We will respond within 45 days and may request identity verification before processing. If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing support@keytradesman.com with the subject line “Colorado Privacy Act Appeal.” We will respond to your appeal within 45 days and will provide a written explanation of the reasons for our decision.

6. Data Deletion Requests

Email support@keytradesman.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include the name, address, and phone number used in your submission. We will process your request within 30 days and send written confirmation of deletion.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. In the event of a data breach, we will notify you as required by Colorado law (HB 18-1128) within 30 days of our determination that a breach has occurred.

8. Children’s Privacy

The KeyTradesman platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Contact support@keytradesman.com to report any such submission for immediate deletion.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain platform functionality and prevent fraud (via Google reCAPTCHA). We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or behavioral tracking.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
